We utilize a Tiered Response to Intervention (RTI) System, an approach that provides early, systematic assistance to children whose needs aren’t met through general core instruction. The goal is to identify and support students with learning and behavior needs as early as possible. The system is structured in multiple tiers, each offering a different level of support based on the student’s needs.

EP differentiates between behavioral/SEL and other developmental needs:

🫵🏽 Roles & Responsibilities

Once a student progresses into Tier II intervention, an RTI Team is formed, including the Director of Student Success, Assistant Director, Classroom Teachers, and relevant whole school personnel.

• Lead Teachers: data tracking + graphing and serves as main point of contact for family communication.
• Parents & Guardians: Active participation and communication during the whole intervention process process. Follow-through on outside service referrals. Implementation of goals and strategies at home.
• Associate Teachers and/or Whole School Support: data tracking whenever in the room, implements intervention systems and attends end of cycle meeting.
• Assistant Director (AD): supports teachers during the intervention process.
• Director of Student Success (DSS): graphs data of pull-out interventions (Tier 2), conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and supports teachers with intervention systems throughout.
• Executive Director (ED): leads transition meeting from Tier II to Tier III when asking families to fill out Child Search, Early Steps, etc…

According to EBR, interventions should last ~ 6 weeks. Tier 2 & Tier 3 Intervention cycles at EP are 5-6 weeks (fluctuation due to school calendar). There are 6 intervention cycles throughout the year:
